Judging by the small size of the loops, it seems they were originally hook-style fastenings rather than buttons.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eThere are no large tears, but there is some wear such as light staining — which is only natural, as this antique piece has survived from a much earlier era and was clearly cherished over time.
