This is a beautifully written legal document dating from around 1830-1860.
These letters were legally determined, stating how much someone owed to someone and how much they would repay. The only difference is that they date to roughly the mid-1800s, and there's no particular reason for the contents of the lot. It's interesting to note that the official stamps change over time, from the monarchy to Napoleon.
