About Customs Duties for Personal Imports??????
Depending on the package, customs duties may apply.
In that case, customs duties are the responsibility of the recipient.
The following is a quote from the DHL website.
Items purchased online for personal use
Customs duties and consumption tax may be applied to items purchased online for the following reasons.
- In most cases, the price of items purchased online does not include customs duties and consumption tax, and these may also not be included in the total shipping cost paid to the online shop.
- When purchasing items online, some or all of the items may not be shipped from your country of residence, in which case customs duties will apply. Customs duties are charges or taxes imposed on goods transported across borders.
- If the item is not transported within your own country or within a single customs union such as the European Union, you will be responsible for paying the import duties and consumption tax deemed appropriate by your country's customs authorities.
- So that the DHL courier can deliver items that have entered your country or customs union as quickly as possible, DHL pays the customs duties and consumption tax to the customs authorities on your behalf.
- Once the customs duties and consumption tax have been paid in full to DHL, the item will be delivered to you.
- The amount charged is determined by the shipping origin of the item, the type of item, the transaction value, and the weight of the package.
When purchasing items online, please be sure to check which of the following locations the item will be shipped from to your address.
- Your own country
- Another country
- A country outside your customs union
Note: Different rules apply if the item was purchased for commercial purposes.
